Barker Days 062
Celebrate the end of summer and welcome the autumn season with our list of five things to know for September.

Barker Days Sept. 8:

Parker Parks and Recreation presents Barker Days 2018 with Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at H2O’Brien Pool. Dogs can take a dip in the pool (closed to humans for the season and neutralized to be dog-friendly), chase balls and Frisbees on the ball field, check out the agility course and rub noses with dog-related service providers and vendors.

Pre-registration for Barker Days, which closes Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. is $6 per Parker-resident dog and $8 for non-residents; their humans are free. Walk-up registration will begin at 11 a.m. on the event day and will be accepted based on capacity. Walk-up cost is $8 per resident dog and $10 per non-resident dog. Register online and learn more about the event on the Barker Days website.

Redesigned Town website to debut:

The Town of Parker’s digital home, www.ParkerOnline.org, will launch with a redesigned look in September. Redesigned to be mobile-friendly and better serve residents, new website features include simplified navigation, an A to Z directory, improve search function, new calendar design and more. Stay tuned to our social media accounts for a launch date and instructional guides for the redesigned site.

Keep an eye out for refreshed Parker ArtsParker Parks and Recreation and Parker Police Department websites this fall, too.

Celebrate Cities and Towns Week:

To acknowledge the many ways the Town and its employees positively impact the lives of residents, Parker will recognize Colorado Cities and Towns Week Sept. 10 to 16. Look for special features across the Town’s digital platforms during the week and pick up a Parker Proud sticker at Town Hall, Parker Fieldhouse, Parker Recreation Center, the PACE Center and Parker Police Department, while supplies last.

Kids can also get in on the festivities by participating in the annual coloring contest. Illustrate a picture based on the prompt, “The Town of Parker is great because…” and turn it in at Town Hall by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 to enter. The top three winners as chosen by Town Council will be invited to a special lunch with Mayor Mike Waid and recognized at a Council meeting.

Calendar Photo Contest begins:

Do you want to see your photos featured in the Town of Parker’s 2019 calendar? Here’s your chance! Enter you best snapshots of the Town in the 2019 Town Calendar photo contest.

Participants 18 and older may enter up to five photos. Photos must have been taken in the 80138 or 80134 ZIP codes, be without watermark or date stamps and preferably 300 dpi.
