Greg Schuster - Meet Our Staff

Summer in Colorado means road maintenance is in high gear. The Town of Parker is continually working on improving our community’s transportation network and takes an aggressive approach to maintaining surfaces, helping to keep our roads from reaching a point of complete deterioration and reducing common issues such as raveling, potholes and ruts.

Meet Greg Schuster, Streets Maintenance Technician. Greg keeps busy year-round, not just in helping to perform asphalt and concrete repair, but also helping with snow removal during the winter months and street sweeping in the spring, summer and fall. Take a few minutes to learn more about Greg and how he helps keep Parker moving!

How long have you worked for the Town of Parker? Where did you work before Parker?
“Have been with the Town for 12 years; six years doing concrete, two years doing asphalt and four years street sweeping. I spent many years in restaurants, everywhere from Village Inn and Denny’s to Red Lobster and The Trail Dust.”

Tell us about your job and how it impacts the Parker community.
“I help in the maintenance and snow removal of Town roadways and sidewalks, making traveling safer for the community.”

What do you most enjoy about working for the Town of Parker?
“The variety of work I can do.”

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
“I am a Parker native. I remember when the roads were dirt and all the subdivisions were pasture.”

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
“My free time is spent at a golf course.”

What’s one thing that you feel sets Parker apart from other communities?
“The many variety of events that happen at O’Brien Park and downtown.”

What is the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
“That would be tailgating and attending an Oakland Raiders home game. They are that crazy.”

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
“That would be my driver’s license. It was lost for various reasons when I was younger, but now would bring everything to a halt.”

If you could do another job for the Town of Parker for just one day, what would it be?
“At one time I thought that being a police officer would be an interesting job.”

What’s one thing about working for the Town of Parker that you didn’t expect?

What accomplishment are you most proud of since you started working for the Town of Parker?
“The introduction of the crash attenuator. (An impact attenuator, also known as a crash cushion, crash attenuator, or cowboy cushion, is a device intended to reduce the damage to structures, vehicles, and motorists resulting from a motor vehicle collision. Impact attenuators are designed to absorb the colliding vehicle’s kinetic energy.)”

What is the strangest thing that you have experienced while working for the Town of Parker?
