[ARCHIVED] My Mainstreet Implementation Project

My Mainstreet Implementation Project logo

During the My Mainstreet Project in 2018, we partnered with the Parker community to gather feedback while  creating a Strategic Framework for future development of five publicly owned properties in Downtown Parker. With the conclusion of that project, we have moved into our next phase: Implementation.

The My Mainstreet Implementation project will build on this foundation and inform residents about the next steps each site will go through to help create a Vibrant, Vital and Resilient downtown.

We recently added a new project to the Let’s Talk Parker community website to continue to engage residents throughout this Implementation phase. The information that is currently on the project page includes:

Development Status of the My Mainstreet Properties

Are you curious about the development status of each of the properties that were part of this initiative? With the My Mainstreet Implementation project, you will be able to find the current status of each property as it moves through the development process. As proposals are submitted for a property, you will have the opportunity to provide your feedback.

Elements of A Good Downtown

The My Mainstreet Implementation project is striving to ensure that Downtown Parker is Vibrant, Vital and Resilient. But what does that mean? We have created a series of informational videos describing the 10 key elements that should be included in any downtown. Visit Let’s Talk Parker to watch the videos and take part in a moderated discussion about each topic.

The 10 key elements of a great downtown include:

  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Friendly
  • Mix of Uses
  • Downtown Housing Options
  • Quality Outdoor Spaces and Design
  • Municipal and Economic Anchors
  • Culture and Entertainment
  • Public-Private Partnerships
  • Well-Defined and Branded
  • Historic Preservation
  • Clean and Safe Environment

Fact or Fiction?

Have you heard conflicting information about future development of the My Mainstreet Project parcels? Are you unclear about the issues regarding the zoning of the PACE Lot 2 and Pine Curve properties?

In an effort to provide answers to your questions, a new Fact or Fiction page can be found at www.LetsTalkParker.org/MyMainstreet-Implementation.  While you are checking out the Fact or Fiction resource, you can also find additional information about the implementation of the My Mainstreet Project, downtown Parker and submit your questions directly to staff.

General Project Information

The My Mainstreet Implementation project page is the go-to place for up-to-date and accurate information about this important, forward-thinking project. The information you can currently find there includes: documents related to the project and development of the properties; answers to frequently asked questions we have been hearing from the community; resources related to Downtown Parker; staff contacts; and much, much more.

Interested in learning more and having your voice be heard? Visit our project page today! We look forward to your continued input on the My Mainstreet Project!
