On Dec. 12, three Town Councilmembers were sworn into office following their selection to serve the Parker community by voters during the November general election.
Incumbent Councilmembers Anne Barrington and Joshua Rivero were elected to new four-year terms. Brandi Wilks was elected to her first four-year term on the Town Council.
Barrington was sworn in for her first full term as a Councilmember after initially being elected during the Town of Parker Special Election held in May 2021. A resident of the Estates at Quail Creek for more than 20 years, she is the owner of local real estate agency The Barrington Group. In her time as a Councilmember, Barrington has served as the Town Council representative for the Douglas County Housing Partnership, Downtown Business Alliance and Greater Parker Foundation.
Rivero, a longtime Parker and current Idyllwilde resident, was elected to his third full term on Town Council after recently completing a partial term earned during Parker’s May 2021 Special Election. He is the owner of local business Fika Coffee House. In his previous term as a Councilmember, Rivero served as the Town Council liaison to the Douglas County Youth Initiative, Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority and Partnership of Douglas County Government.
Wilks, also an Idyllwilde resident who owns local business Wilks Real Estate, has been an active member of the Parker community for many years. She has served on the Parker Special Licensing Authority and as Vice Chair of the Downtown Business Alliance, and she also is an active member of the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce. Wilks has helped raise donations for many local community groups, including the Parker Task Force, SECOR Cares, Royal Family Kids and the ASPCA.
